Lakelawn Motel History Lakelawn was built in 1864 by William Dodge Lovitt, a ship owner and merchant in the Town of Yarmouth. It became a Lodge prior to 1949 and was known for its lobster suppers and strawberry shortcake. In 1957 the house was rolled back to its present foundation on logs brought in especially for the the purpses for B.C. and the motel was built. It continues to be a comfortable and affordable place to stay and we thank you for staying with us.
